Supa Margarita

The Inspiration

Recently there has been a craze around clarifying cocktails and a buddy of mine recommended I try out this new lime alternative, supasawa, made in Belgium to see if we could make a clarified variation without milk washing. So after a few iterations, we landed on this, which has a noticeably different color and texture than the other 8 margaritas that we blind tasted during the margarita toast off. And to our surprise, it came in third place!

Ingredients

1.5 ounces of jalapeno infused tequila blanco
0.5 ounce of mezcal joven (something not super smokey, I used Del Maguey Vida – Classico)
0.75 ounce of supasawa (if you can’t find, you can use lime juice)
0.5 ounce of triple sec (cointreau)
0.5 ounce of simple syrup

How to Prepare

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake for 30 seconds
Strain and pour into your favorite margarita glass (I prefer an old fashioned glass over a large clear ice cube since this is mostly clear)

Cheers!
