The Inspiration
Kyle’s been perfecting his margarita for years, and to get ready for the first Toasty Bird event ever, the margarita toast off, where a group of cocktail enthusiasts blind tasted 8 different margaritas, Kyle decided to change it up and craft this recipe that had a “spritz” of something the others didn’t. This recipe pays homage to the rumored Sara Morales origin story of the first margarita that is topped with something refreshing.
Ingredients
1.5 ounces tequila blanco
1 ounce tequila reposado
0.5 ounce triple sec (cointreau)
1 ounce lime juice
0.5 ounce agave syrup
Top lightly with ‘topo chico – twist of lime’
How to Prepare
Add all ingredients, except the topo chico, into a shaker with ice and shake for 30 seconds
Strain and pour into your favorite margarita glass
Top lightly with topo chico – twist of lime
